Key Responsibilities

  • Safe Transport: Drive patients to and from hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities in a safe and timely manner.
  • Patient Assistance: Assist patients in and out of the vehicle, ensuring they are secure and comfortable. Provide support for those with mobility issues.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly check and maintain the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any issues or required repairs promptly.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of trips, including mileage, patient information, and any incidents that occur during transport.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with healthcare facilities, dispatchers, and patients to coordinate transport schedules and any changes.
  • Customer Service: Provide compassionate and professional service to all patients, ensuring a positive and supportive transport experience.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License: Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification: Certification in CPR and first aid is highly desirable.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to assist patients with mobility issues and handle equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and a patient, empathetic demeanour.

Working Conditions

  • Schedule: positions available with flexible scheduling options. Some weekend and evening shifts may be required.
  • Environment: Work primarily involves driving and assisting patients, with exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Equipment: Use of a company vehicle equipped with necessary medical transport equipment.
